Anatomie Skyler Pants Review

For 3 months I traveled with one pair of pants in my backpack: Skyler travel pants from Anatomie.

First off, the good side of my Anatomie pants… They were great hiking pants. They are super lightweight, stretchy, and quick-drying. But they can also double as nice ‘go out to dinner’ pants. You would never know they had gone hiking the day before, unless you forget to wash off the mud. I have the Skyler pant in the grey color, it goes with almost everything. The pants held up well in a washing machine, or a hand wash in the sink. I always hung them to dry, and they definitely dried fast.

My favorite feature, they take almost no space in my bag. And no matter how I pack them, they always come out with almost no wrinkles. The Skyler pants are great for feeling stylish while hiking or exploring the city.

But of course, no women’s pants are perfect… The super stretchy-ness which is great for hiking and activities, also means they are quite form fitting and don’t hide any curves (which I have plenty of). This makes them hard pants to wear around more conservative cultures. Also, the fabric is very thin, which is good for the quick dry and light weight, but tough for extreme temperatures. In the heat they didn’t breathe well, and in the cold I froze.

As travel pants? The light weight, packability of the Skyler pant almost makes up for the missing travel feature of a useful pocket. The thin fabric and form-fitting style makes it so you can see right away if there is anything in any of your pockets. Not good for tucking away a small wallet or credit card when you’re in a high risk pick-pocket area.

My overall advice: The Skyler pants are a great choice for those who are shaped a bit more like a model than me, and those who are traveling with a few more clothing options. I was restricted by weather and culture on when and where I could wear my Anatomie pants. And when you only have one pair, that gets tough.
